"Jenna is a queer experimental composer from Staten Island, NY (formerly the bassist and songwriter of Yeti).
Her main influences are Sparklehorse and Max Roach (although, it's hard to pinpoint this album's genre... I would say it's more Cat Power ish). Too North explores queer identity and mental illness. It's dedicated to my brother.
Too North is a careful step outside her bedroom. It is a series of bad haircuts. It's fist-clenching exercises. It's a butterfly stitch. It's stuck on a chain email. It's smothered, covered, and peppered. And it's listening to you too. "
What's better than theremin, trumpets, and sheer emotion?
